Tips for summer safety
1.) Plan your day – try to avoid being outdoors between 11am and 4pm.
2.) Keep hydrated – drink plenty of water the more you move the more you need.
3.) Seek shade – keep in the shade, or take a sun umbrella.
4.) Avoid alcohol and caffeine – they can make dehydration worse.
5.) Cool off – take a tepid shower or bath, or a dip in the water.
6.) Eat fresh – try eating cold, healthy foods such as salads or fruit.
7.) Dress cool – wear hats, and light, loose natural clothing.
8.) Sunscreen – choose an effective sunscreen, follow the application instructions.
9.) Check others – take care of others who may be vulnerable to heat.
